The United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) held its regional competitions in late February for teams to qualify to Nationals. There are 6 total regions: West, Midwest, Mideast, Mid-Atlantic, Far West, and Eastern.
West Regionals 2/20 - 2/22
The West region held its regionals at Steamboat Mountain in Steamboat, CO. Thursday held the women's giant slalom events, while the men’s events were held on Friday.
Rocky Mountain College won the men’s team giant slalom event overall. Rocky Mountain’s Fredrik Straume took 1st place followed by teammate William Mjelde in 2nd place with a 0.52 second difference. Teammate Caleb Unger placed 3rd. The United States Air Force Academy placed 2nd overall led by Joseph Olson in 11th place. Teammate Luke Kirchmayr placed 13th. The women’s giant slalom event was also won by Rocky Mountain College overall. Rocky Mountain College’s Eulalie Giraud took 1st place followed by teammate Elisabeth Grimkelsrud in 2nd with a 1.16-second difference. Synne Gaustad took 3rd place. The University of Colorado Boulder placed 2nd overall led by Jenna Blatchford in 7th place.
Friday held the men’s and women’s slalom events. The men’s slalom event was won by Rocky Mountain College overall. Rocky Mountain’s Fredrik Straume took 1st place followed by teammate Jules Clerice in 2nd place with a 0.17 second difference. Rocky Mountain’s William Mjelde placed 5th. The United States Air Force Academy placed 2nd overall led by Tyler Bartick in 9th place. Teammates Joseph Olson placed 12th and Luke Kirchmayr placed 13th. The women’s slalom event was won by Rocky Mountain College overall. Rocky Mountain College’s Eulalie Giraud took 1st place followed by teammate Elisabeth Grimkelsrud in 2nd with a 1.08 second difference. Rocky Mountain’s Synne Gaustad Kvinlog placed 3rd. Montana State University placed 2nd overall led by Parker Crawford in 6th place. Teammates Brenna Ritchie placed 9th and Piper Davis placed 15th.

Midwest Regionals 2/15 - 2/16
The Midwest region held its regionals at Marquette Mountain in Marquette, MI. Saturday held both the men's and women's slalom events.
Overall, Northern Michigan University won the men’s slalom event. Northern Michigan’s Reed Heathman took 1st place followed by teammate Kyan Hopke in 2nd place with a 0.05 second difference. Northern Michigan’s Anthony Petkov placed 5th. St.Olaf College placed 2nd overall led by Graham Barwick in 3rd place followed by teammate Austin Mjanger in 4th place. Northern Michigan University also won the team women’s slalom event. Northern Michigan’s Reagan Olli took 1st place followed by teammate Ainsley Kirk in 2nd place with a 1.27 second difference. Teammate Ella Wichert placed 3rd. St.Olaf College placed 2nd overall led by Kate Young in 9th place. St.Olaf’s Jessica Stanton placed 10th and teammate Lexi Jorgensen placed 16th.
Sunday held both the men's and women's giant slalom events. Northern Michigan University won the team men’s giant slalom event. Northern Michigan’s Anthony Petkov took 1st place followed by teammate Andrew Truman in 2nd place with a 0.08 second difference. Teammate Reed Heathman placed 3rd. University of Madison Wisconsin placed 2nd overall led by Tanner Bence in 5th place. Madison’s James Briggs placed 10th. Northern Michigan University’s women’s team also won the women’s giant slalom event. Northern Michigan’s Tommie Jo Springer took 1st place followed by teammate Reagan Olli with a 0.21 second difference. Teammate Ainsley Kirk placed 4th. St.Olaf College placed 2nd overall led by Kate Young in 3rd place. Teammate Maia Andrews placed 13th.

Eastern Regionals 2/15 - 2/16
The Eastern Region held its regionals at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine. Saturday held both men's and women's giant slalom events.
The University of Connecticut took 1st place overall in the men’s category. Connecticut’s Ian Hanrahan placed 2nd behind the University of Massachusetts Marin Vigneras in 1st place with a 0.31 second difference. Connecticut’s Dante Mulcahy placed 4th and teammate Colby Rathbone placed 10th. Babson placed 2nd overall, led by Elliot Perretta in 3rd place. Teammates Zachary Carpenter placed 8th and Moksh Patel placed 12th.
Vermont State University - Castleton took 1st place overall in the women's category. Castleton’s Emilie Stene took 1st place followed by teammate Andrea Rodriguez in 2nd place with a 0.58 second difference. Teammate Alice Pomi placed 3rd. Babson College placed 2nd overall led by Morrison Travis in 4th place. Teammates Camryn Knowlton placed 6th and Amelie Alkier placed 8th.
Sunday held both men's and women's slalom events. Babson College took 1st place overall in the men’s category. Babson’s James Rosenbloom placed 4th. Teammates Connor Roy placed 7th and Elliot Perretta in 9th place. Vermont State University - Castleton placed 2nd overall led by Edouard Brochu in 1st place. Teammates Jackson Knobloch in 15th place and Joshua Jusiak placed 19th.
Vermont State University - Castleton took 1st place overall in the women's category. The Far West region held its regionals at China Peak Mountain Resort in California. Saturday held both men's and women's giant slalom events. Stanford University took 1st place overall in the men’s category. Stanford’s Thomas Hatcher took 1st place followed by University of California Los Angeles’ Musashi Eto in 2nd place with a 0.15 second difference. Stanford’s William Sayler placed 3rd and teammate Maxime de Belloy de Saint Liénard placed 7th. The Claremont Colleges placed 2nd overall led by Will Sedo in 4th place. Teammates Jacob Hardy placed 7th and John Peabody placed 9th. The University of California, San Diego took 1st place overall in the women’s category. San Diego’s Jordan Flood placed 2nd behind Stanford’s Charlotte Courtois in 1st place with a 1.22 second difference. San Diego’s Lancia Carson placed 7th and teammate Chaney Szeto placed 11th. The University of California Los Angeles placed 2nd overall led by Gemma Hill in 4th place. Teammates Samantha McKay placed 8th and Madeline Le Francios placed 9th.

Mid-Atlantic Regionals 2/22 - 2/23
The Mid-Atlantic Region held its regionals at Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. Saturday held both men's and women's giant slalom events. Lafayette College took 1st place in the men’s category. Lafayette’s Sebastian Bjorkeson placed 3rd. Teammates Oliver Lehman in 13th place and Charlie Steele in 14th place. Fairfield University placed 2nd overall led by Timothy Teguis in 6th place. Teammates Cole Paton placed 9th and Santiago Pastor placed 17th. Lehigh University’s Aaron Martin placed 1st followed by Princeton University’s Lorenzo Lizzeri in 2nd place with a 0.58 second difference. Georgetown University took 1st place overall in the women's category. Georgetown’s Sophie Neff took 1st place followed by Messiah University's Faith Richert placed 2nd with a 0.69 second difference. Georgetown’s Chloe Vlases placed 8th and teammate Megan Ryan placed 12th. The University of Virginia placed 2nd overall led by Logan Lindstrom in 3rd place. Teammates Laura Lee Baldwin placed 9th and Bori Kim placed 16th.
Sunday held both men's and women's slalom events. Lehigh University took 1st place overall in the men’s category. Lehigh’s Aaron Martin placed 3rd. Teammates Ian Kenyon placed 6th and Jordan Bell placed 19th. Lafayette College placed 2nd overall led by Sebastian Bjorkeson placed 4th. Teammates Charlie Steele placed 15th and Oliver Lehman placed 16th. Messiah University's Noah Richert took 1st place followed by Penn State University's Shayan Gupta in 2nd place with a 1.91 second difference. Georgetown University took 1st place overall in the women's category. Georgetown’s Sophie Neff placed 2nd behind Messiah Universities Faith Richert in 1st place with a 2.59 second difference.
Georgetown’s Megan Ryan placed 9th and teammate Chloe Vlases placed 11th. The University of Virginia placed 2nd overall led by Logan Lindstrom in 3rd place.

The Mideast region held its regionals at Bristol Mountain in New York.
Saturday held both men's and women's giant slalom events. Hobart and William Smith Colleges took 1st place overall in the men's category. Hobart and William Smith’s Ethan Hine took 1st place followed by Skidmore College’s Justin Shafritz in 2nd place with a 1.99 second difference. Hobart and William Smith’s Will Patton placed 3rd and teammate Jake Labanowski placed 8th.
Colgate University took 1st place overall in the women’s category. Colgate’s Kate Goodrich took 1st place followed by teammate Charlotte Morris in 2nd place with a 1.73 second difference. Colgate’s Kaitlyn Willett placed 4th. Cornell University placed 2nd overall led by Abigail Miller in 8th place. Teammates Michaela Eichel placed 9th and Alexandra Griffin placed 12th.
Sunday held both men's and women's slalom events. Hobart and William Smith Colleges took 1st place overall in the men's category. Hobart and William Smith’s Will Patton took 1st place followed by teammate Ethan Hine in 2nd place with a 2.91 second difference. Hobart and William Smith’s Jack Meagher placed 15th. Cornell University placed 2nd overall led by Antoine Marc in 3rd place. Teammates James Kelly placed 11th and Ryan Rupprecht placed 13th.

USCSA is the sports federation for collegiate team ski and snowboard competition in America. Our athletes agree that our team orientation fosters a collaborative approach across their collegiate athletic and academic careers, and often this mentality proves indispensable in their adult lives and careers. USCSA includes over 140 institutions from coast to coast, fielding over 4,700 female and male alpine, freestyle, nordic, and snowboarding athletes who participate in more than 300 events annually.

Georgetown’s Megan Ryan placed 9th and teammate Chloe Vlases placed 11th. The University of Virginia placed 2nd overall led by Logan Lindstrom in 3rd place.

The Women’s National qualifying teams are as follows: 1. Georgetown University, 2. University of Virginia, 3. Penns State University, 4. Messiah University, 5. Mideast Regionals 2/22 - 2/23
The Mideast region held its regionals at Bristol Mountain in New York.
Saturday held both men's and women's giant slalom events. Hobart and William Smith Colleges took 1st place overall in the men's category. Hobart and William Smith’s Ethan Hine took 1st place followed by Skidmore College’s Justin Shafritz in 2nd place with a 1.99 second difference. Hobart and William Smith’s Will Patton placed 3rd and teammate Jake Labanowski placed 8th.
Colgate University took 1st place overall in the women’s category. Colgate’s Kate Goodrich took 1st place followed by teammate Charlotte Morris in 2nd place with a 1.73 second difference. Colgate’s Kaitlyn Willett placed 4th. Cornell University placed 2nd overall led by Abigail Miller in 8th place. Teammates Michaela Eichel placed 9th and Alexandra Griffin placed 12th.
Sunday held both men's and women's slalom events. Hobart and William Smith Colleges took 1st place overall in the men's category. Hobart and William Smith’s Will Patton took 1st place followed by teammate Ethan Hine in 2nd place with a 2.91 second difference. Hobart and William Smith’s Jack Meagher placed 15th. Cornell University placed 2nd overall led by Antoine Marc in 3rd place. Teammates James Kelly placed 11th and Ryan Rupprecht placed 13th.
Colgate University took 1st place overall in the women's category. Colgate’s Kate Goodrich took 1st place followed by teammate Charlotte Morris in 2nd place with a 1.89 second difference. Colgate’s Carissa Dunlap placed 8th. Hobart and William Smith College placed 2nd overall led by Kate Broderick in 3rd place. Teammates Lily Winch placed 4th and Marjorie Plants placed 5th.
