MARCH 2023 NEWSLETTER STUDENT-ATHLETE REP APPLICATIONS DUE FRIDAY   The application window for 2023-2024 Student-Athlete Representative positions goes through March 31. For more information on your current Student Reps and the application process, visit our website. **Make sure to submit all required materials by March 31. NATIONALS PHOTOS NATIONALS RESULTS Join us in congratulating this year's Scholar All-Americans! 2023 SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICANS PITTSBURGH, PA May 19-21, 2023   All USCSA members are invited to attend the USCSA Summer Conference. This a great opportunity to meet Board members, elected VPs, Student-Athlete Reps, Committee Chairs, and other volunteers. The program will include a variety of sessions on the new Sustainability Work Group, Student-Athlete Reps, and Engagement of Alumni, Volunteers and Partners. There will be plenty of opportunities to socialize and network as well! Program highlights include: Sustainability Working Group In the fall of 2022, the USCSA formed the organization’s first-ever Sustainability Working Group. This session will allow the Group to share their initial work and their plans for the upcoming year. Student-Athlete Reps Hear from some of our 2022-2023 Student-Athlete Reps about how they help build engagement among the student athletes and represent the voice of the athletes within the USCSA’s national structure. Reps will talk about some of the programs in which they are involved and how their experiences have contributed to their own leadership development. Partnerships, Alumni & Volunteers Join members of the leadership team and USCSA’s Development Committee for a discussion on developing a pipeline of volunteers, engaging alumni and growing our partnership program. This session will highlight what is currently underway and what is planned for the upcoming season. Visit the website for lodging information. SUMMER CONFERENCE INFO ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR AWARDS Deadline to nominate: April 28, 2023   Reward your favorite coach or volunteer by nominating them for an award! Awards are distributed at the Summer Conference (or can be mailed if winners are not in attendance). Send all nominations to [email protected] by April 28. VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR Presented to a USCSA volunteer, not holding a USCSA conference or board position that has gone above and beyond others to enhance the USCSA experience for athletes and events. The very existence of the organization depends deeply on the efforts of hundreds of volunteers working to deliver the USCSA experience. This award is presented in recognition of one that has given more of themselves to the USCSA than all others. COACH OF THE YEAR An individual, who during the past season has exemplified the qualities of a great coach in every sense of the position. This coach commanded the respect of other coaches and athletes alike, both on and off the race venue. Their influence on the sport extended beyond team, division and boundaries. The recipient of this award has contributed to the strengthening of the sport through increasing participation, respect and public awareness.
