Favorite athlete: Chris Del Bosco Favorite part of my ski team: The camaraderie What new USCSA athletes should know: USCSA is a place where it doesn't matter your background, you still can race and enjoy competitive skiing What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: Recruitment efforts and growth of USCSA athlete numbers through expansion of programs, scholarship opportunities, growth in sponsorships, and increased communications with high school programs. The most valuable lesson I learned in my first year as a Student Rep: How big the community of USCSA is. \My favorite project that I worked on in my first year as a Student Rep: Recruiting members from all around the nation. |

Favorite athlete: Lindsey Vonn Favorite part of my ski team: We are all unique individuals connected by the one thing we love most: skiing. There’s nothing better than shredding the slopes while making memories of a lifetime with your best friends by your side. What new USCSA athletes should know: The USCSA is dedicated to giving you the perfect mix of a friendly and competitive experience of ski/snowboard racing. You will have the best time on the slopes with all of the incredible college athletes you meet. What I enjoy working on as a Student-Athlete Rep: Through social media, I will expand the reach of the USCSA, bring more energy to our posts and create more opportunities to engage on all of our platforms. |
Nordic: John Thompson

Major: Sport Management
Major: Sport Management
# of years I've skied: 8
Favorite athlete: Jessie Diggins Favorite part of my ski team: All of the wonderful memories you create on and off snow. Having a team that creates a positive environment and encourages each other to always go deeper during training and races plays a big role in that, but at the end of the day the best part ends up being the little moments in between. What new USCSA athletes should know: No matter the amount of experience, there's a place in the USCSA for everyone; that's what makes it great. There's a wide variety of skill, but what matters is your progression relative to yourself, not to others. Everyone is there because they love their sport and they want to have fun doing it, and the USCSA is a great avenue to do so. |
What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: One of my goals is to bring the existing members of the USCSA community closer together. I'd also like to increase participation in the USCSA as a whole. This means showing high school skiers and boarders an option outside of NCAA, getting our current skiers more involved with committees and the organization, and increasing the amount of opportunities available to USCSA skiers within snowsports.
The most valuable lesson I learned in my first year as Student Rep: Communication is key when it comes to working in an organization of this scale. Being able to share ideas and best practices across regions is super valuable and when you have a shared mission you can move mountains.
My favorite project that I worked on in my first year as a Student Rep: Working with Cross Country Skier Magazine to get an article published about the opportunities USCSA provides.

Favorite athlete: Chloe Kim Favorite part of my ski team: The ski team has been super supportive and welcoming, and I am excited that we are starting to grow the amount of snowboard athletes on the team! What new USCSA athletes should know: The more competitions you attend, the more practice you will get competing, whether you have a lot of experience or not. Try to enter as many events as possible throughout the season. You will also get to meet so many amazing people and make lots of friends from other schools! |
What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: I hope to help with digital marketing and brand activation for partnerships with USCSA. I am hoping to utilize my current connections in the snowsports community to help create more sponsorships for the organization. I also hope to recruit more ski/snowboard athletes to be a part of the USCSA community.

# of years I've snowboarded: 7 Favorite athlete: Maddie Mastro What new USCSA athletes should know: It's never too late to try out a new skill or even event. Get comfortable stepping outside of your comfort zone! The most valuable lesson I learned in my first year as Student Rep: The best thing I learned in my first year as a student representative was that it doesn't matter what your background is, USCSA is for anyone with a passion and love for the sport. Whether you are from Florida or California, there is an opportunity for all avid collegiate skiers and snowboarders in this organization. Getting to connect with all these athletes while watching USCSA grow over these last few years has been one of the best parts of my time as a student rep! |
