# of years I've skied: 17 Favorite athlete: Lindsey Vonn Favorite part of my ski team: We are all unique individuals connected by the one thing we love most: skiing. There’s nothing better than shredding the slopes while making memories of a lifetime with your best friends by your side. What new USCSA athletes should know: The USCSA is dedicated to giving you the perfect mix of a friendly and competitive experience of ski/snowboard racing. You will have the best time on the slopes with all of the incredible college athletes you meet. What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: Through social media, I will expand the reach of the USCSA, bring more energy to our posts and create more opportunities to engage on all of our platforms. |
Nordic: John Thompson
Paul Smith's College Nordic Team
Major: Sport Management
Major: Sport Management
# of years I've skied: 7
Favorite athlete: Jessie Diggins Favorite part of my ski team: All of the wonderful memories you create on and off snow. Having a team that creates a positive environment and encourages each other to always go deeper during training and races plays a big role in that, but at the end of the day the best part ends up being the little moments in between. What new USCSA athletes should know: No matter the amount of experience, there's a place in the USCSA for everyone; that's what makes it great. There's a wide variety of skill, but what matters is your progression relative to yourself, not to others. Everyone is there because they love their sport and they want to have fun doing it, and the USCSA is a great avenue to do so. What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: My goal is to bring the USCSA closer together and build a tight knit community through competition and training. The bottom line of sport is to have fun, and it's a lot easier to do that when you're friends with not only your teammates, but your competitors as well. |

Major: Pre-Veterinary Medicine
# of years I've snowboarded: 6
Favorite athlete: Maddie Mastro Favorite part of my snowboard team: Working with the USCSA Southeast Conference race crew and helping put on races for all the teams. What new USCSA athletes should know: It's never too late to try out a new skill or even event. Get comfortable stepping outside of your comfort zone! What I hope to work on as a Student-Athlete Rep: I hope to work on improving the order of events for snowboarding at Nationals so that we can accommodate all athletes and allow them the best chance at a great performance on the national stage. |
