ELIGIBILITY

Competitors

The USCSA follows the NCAA Division II rules (Article 14) for eligibility.

Competitors generally must be:

  • Enrolled full time (as outlined by the institution)

  • In good academic standing with the institution

  • ​Making steady progress towards degree

  • Within their window of eligible years of competition


​Read our processing instructions for a detailed overview of eligibility highlights. This does not cover every eligibility situation, but does cover the majority of cases. Visit Rules & Bylaws and Policies & Guides for complete information on current eligibility rules.

If required by the registrar, Competitors will have to sign the Individual Academic Eligibility Release Form and submit it to their Team Contact.

Contact the National Office with any questions or to request an eligibility review from the Academic Affairs Committee.

Institutions & Teams

IMPORTANT: Confirm that your Team Contact information is accurate before finishing registration ​to avoid delays in receiving eligibility paperwork. 

Team Contacts automatically receive eligibility status emails every Wednesday, which include:

  • Team Eligibility Report (based on currently registered Competitors) *This report is produced by SportsEngine based on the Competitors who have registered. The Team Contact will receive the Report as an attachment to their weekly status report emails.

  • Team Roster (based on currently registered Competitors) *This report is produced by SportsEngine based on the Competitors who have registered. The Team Contact will receive the Report as an attachment to their weekly status report emails.

  • Blank Individual Academic Eligibility Release Forms to distribute to Team members (if required by the institution's registrar)


Team Contacts must submit the Team Eligibility Report to the registrar to certify the Team's eligibility. (If required by the registrar, the Team contact also must submit all signed Individual Academic Eligibility Release Forms to the registrar.)

Registrars must:

  • Return the certified Team Eligibility Report to USCSA electronically:​​​

  • ​​Do not send the individual Academic Eligibility Release Forms to USCSA

​Team Eligibility Checklist (must be completed before start of competition):

  • Institution and Team(s) registrations completed and fee(s) paid

  • Competitor registration(s) completed and fee(s) paid

  • Conference registration completed and fees paid (as applicable)

  • Team Eligibility Report certified by registrar and returned to USCSA​

  • OPTIONAL (if required by the registrar): Individual Academic Eligibility Release Forms signed by each Team member, submitted to the Team Contact and turned in to the registrar; do not submit these forms to the USCSA
