UNITED STATES COLLEGIATE SKI AND SNOWBOARD ASSOCIATION HOSTS 45th ANNUAL U.S. COLLEGIATE SKI AND SNOWBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPSTM

LAKE PLACID, New York. March 3rd 2024 - The U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) will host its 5-day long annual U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard National ChampionshipsTM from March 4-9th, 2024 in Lake Placid, NY. This year, over 600 competitors will roll into the home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games to compete for National collegiate titles in alpine, nordic, snowboard, and freeski events.

Event partners include our title sponsor for the event, Celsius, as well as the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), Borah Teamwear, SYNC Performance, Phunkshun Wear, Swix, Toko, Outdoor Master, High Peaks Cyclery, Flylow, Reliable Racing, Vola Racing, Atomic, Skratch Labs, and Patagonia.

USCSA is the only ski and snowboard league where colleges and universities compete and qualify for postseason competition as a team. This emphasis on team performance is a departure from the typical individual or world cup scoring format often found in skiing. Allowing entire teams to qualify for the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard National ChampionshipsTM also allows for a greater number of competitors to attend the event, with over 250 alpine athletes, 225 freeski and snowboard athletes, and 125 nordic athletes competing next week in Lake Placid.

"I am excited and proud of the 600 plus college athletes attending this year's National Championships in Lake Placid,” said USCSA President Bo Bigelow. “This is our organization's 50th year and we continue to be largest collegiate snowsports organization in the US"

Teams began their quest to qualify for the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard National ChampionshipsTM in their local conference competitions, held across

11 conferences spanning the nation, this January. Top teams from each conference attend one of 6 regional championships, which decide who ultimately qualifies to participate in events at the Collegiate National Championship. Results from all events can be found at www.uscsa.org.

Teams representing over 70 colleges and universities are competing at the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard National ChampionshipsTM. This includes alpine, snowboard, freeski, and nordic teams which qualified through their regional championships, including powerhouses such as Babson College (Alpine), Clarkson University (Alpine, Nordic), Colorado Mesa University (Alpine, Nordic), the University of Wyoming (Nordic), Lees-McRae College (Snowboard), Paul Smith’s College (Nordic), Rocky Mountain College (Alpine, Freeski), St. Olaf College (Alpine, Freeski, Nordic), Westminster University (Snowboard), and the University of Wisconsin at Madison (all disciplines). A full list of qualified institutions is below.

Beginning March 5th, Scott "Boss" Hogg returns to lead the USCSA Broadcast Team, as the USCSA Broadcast Network brings you over 22 hours of live, multi-camera HD video coverage of this year's National Championships. New for 2024 features ESPN broadcaster Casey Ditzel alongside USCSA nordic legend John Henry Paluszek for live daily coverage from the nordic venue at Mount Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex. Additionally, each day’s Awards Ceremonies and the final night’s Champions Banquet and Awards Show will be broadcast on the USCSA X-TRA Channel. To enjoy these online broadcasts, visit www.uscsa.org/broadcast.

The USCSA is the sports federation for collegiate team ski and snowboard competition in America. The USCSA believes that student-athletes of all levels and abilities should have access to quality and exciting venues of competition. USCSA athletes agree that our team orientation fosters a collaborative approach across their collegiate athletic and academic careers, and often this mentality proves indispensable in their adult lives and careers. The organization includes 213 institutions from coast to coast, fielding 4,765 alpine, freestyle, nordic, and snowboarding athletes in over 300 events annually.
